Drummer Austin Lee Harris I was born in San Francisco, lived in New York from 2007-2012, and currently reside in the SF Bay.

I am deeply influenced by the historical masters of jazz drumming who have led the way: Art Blakey, Max Roach, Philly Joe Jones, Billy Higgins and Jimmy Cobb.

I have taught privately and at clinics at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Stanford Jazz Workshop, and CSU Summer Arts. I earned a BM from San Francisco State University in 2007.

I've played at Comstock Saloon, The Burritt Room, Jazz At Pearls, Club Deluxe, Fat Cat Billiards, Tomi Jazz, Smalls, Stanford Jazz Festival, and Cipriani Wall Street.

I've played with Charles McPherson, Andrew Speight, Patrick Wolff, Steven Lugerner, Erik Jekabson, Larry Vuckovich, Dena DeRose, Matthew Clark, Jeb Patton, Dan Nimmer, Joe Gilman, and many others.

In 2011, I helped found Hard Bop Collective, a band devoted to making exciting, swinging music with a strong sense of tradition accessible and fun for the modern audience.
