Jeff Massanari Trio
Guitarist Jeff Massanari was born in Goshen,Indiana and moved to Washington DC at age 9.
Exposed to the vibrant music scene of Washington, Jeff sought out the
guitar and began playing at age 13. By the time he was 17 he was
performing and teaching jazz and blues in the Washington DC area.
Jeff's love of jazz took him from DC to Boston's Berklee School of
Music. After studying performance and composition, Jeff moved to the
San Francisco Bay Area and quickly became one of the most in-demand
guitarists.
Jeff has performed with many of the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier
artists including vocalists Paula West, Brenda Boykin, Denise Perrier,
Nicolas Bearde, Kenny Washington, and Pamela Rose, and instrumentalists
Wally Schnalle, Jeff Pittson, Charles McNeil, Vince Lateano, Noel
Jewkes, Charlie McCarthy, and Jeff Chambers.
In addition to performing with his own groups, Jeff regularly plays
with The Johnny Nocturne Band, The Murasaki Ensemble, Swing Fever, and
countless other musicians in the Jazz, Blues, and World music genres.
Jeff has performed at Yoshi’s, Pearl’s, Davies Symphony Hall, San Jose
Jazz Festival, Fillmore Jazz Festival, North Beach Jazz Festival, and
the Sausalito Arts Festival. Internationally Jeff has performed in
Japan, Sweden, Finland, Guam, and Italy at the Umbria Jazz Festival.
He has released five CDs as a leader. The latest, ”Groovework” is

Jeff has taught at U.C. Berkeley, The Jazz School, Jazz Camp West,
Bruce Forman’s Jazzmaster series, and Blue Bear Music School.

Hammond organist Wayne de la Cruz began his
professional career in 1973 playing his first paying gig on Hammond
organ at the age of 16.
Since then he has performed with Randy Vincent, Pete Yellin, Mimi Fox,
Maria Muldaur, Mary Wells, Vernelle Anders, Terri Lynn Carrington,
Allison Miller, Wally Schnalle, Terrence Brewer, Alex Call, The Johnny
Nocturne Band, and The Legion of Mary, among many others.
He has played at these well known venues: S.F. Jazz Center,
Yoshi's Oakland & S.F., Monterey Jazz Festival, Jazz
at Pearl's, Anna's Jazz Island, The Fillmore St. Jazz Festival,
Biscuits and Blues, The Boom Boom Room, The Club Deluxe, The Hedly Club
in San Jose, The Plaza Bistro in Sonoma, Piedmont Piano Co., Bach
Dancing and Dynamite, Kuumbwa, and Vitello's in Studio City, Ca.

Drummer Wally Schnalle has been playing drums well
over 40 years. For
the past 20 years he’s been sharing his knowledge and experience as a
teacher, bandleader, recording artist, and sideman with many great Bay
Area bands.
He performs and teaches in many genres, including Latin, funk, and rock
and blues, but the bulk of his work is in Jazz and fusion. He has
performed widely, including gigs at the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest,
Monterey Jazz Festival, Portland Jazz Festival, and San Francisco’s
Jazz in the City series.
Schnalle has nine CDs of original compositions in release and was
awarded a compositional commission from the Santa Clara University
School of Music and Dance as well as an Artist In Residence Grant from
The California Arts Council.
Wally earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Jazz Performance at San
Jose State University.
He performed previously at Chez Hanny with Dave Rocha.
