Kristen Strom Quartet
Saxophonist Kristen Strom has performed with
Transfer, Roberta Flack, Johnny Mathis, Jimmy Heath, Steve Turre, Jon Faddis,
Kevin Mahogany, Michel Legrand, the San Jose Symphony, the Temptations,
Natalie Cole, The Four Tops, and Beach Blanket Babylon.
She has released two CDs as a leader, "Intention", and "Sojourn", the
latter featuring this quartet. She has also
recorded more than
25 CDs with various jazz and pop artists, including Crossing Borders,
John Worley and Worlview, Ed Johnson and Novo Tempo, Wally Schnalle,
Burning Bridges, Tim Volpicella, and four albums with The Nuclear
Whales Saxophone Orchestra.
Kristen is saxophone instructor at Santa Clara University, is on the
faculty of the Stanford Jazz Workshop, and is the Education Consultant
for the San Jose Jazz Society.
She has a B.A. in Music from San Jose State University, and studied
with Joe Henderson,
Mel Martin, and Victor Morosco.
Guitarist Scott Sorkin attended San Jose State
University, and studied wth Steve Erquiaga, Rick Vandivier, and Bruce
He has performed with Stanford Jazz Workshop, Don Haas, Al Plank,
Mike Vax, Johnny Coppola, Wesla Whitfield, John Stowell, Bruce Forman,
Smith Dobson, Noel Jewkes,
Louie Bellson, Chuck Travis, Jack Sheldon, Anton Schwartz, Eric
Crystal, Harvey Wainapel, Jacqui Naylor, Debbie Reynolds and Donald
O'Connor, The Lennon Sisters, Andrea Marcovicci, The 5th Dimension,
Roger Williams, San Jose Symphony,
Monterey Symphony, San Jose Civic Light Opera, Vikki Carr, Rich Little,
The Drifters, and The Ink Spots, in addition to wife Kristen Strom.

Trio, the Paul Nagel Trio, Ann Dyer & No Good Time Fairies, the
Will Bernard Quartet, Anton Schwartz, Ray Brown's Great Big Band, Ben
Goldberg, Tim Volpicella, and many others.
John was heard here previously with Scott Amendola, Dave Mac Nab, Dave
Zilber, John Stowell, Chuck Manning, Sheldon Brown, Emil Viklicky, and
the Harvey Wainapel / Phil Grenadier Group.
Drummer Jason Lewis has played with a variety of
talented musicians including: Joshua
Breakstone, John Stowell, Gary Burton, James Moody, Mark Murphy, Norma
Winstone, Larry Coryell, Darol Anger, Regina Carter, Johnny Frigo, Ann
Dyer, James Carter, Taylor Eigsti, John Handy, Anton Schwartz, Mark
Levine, Peter Apfelbaum, Cornelius Bumpus, and Kurt Elling.
For much of the past several years he has been touring with Boz Scaggs,
and appears on the latter's recording of standards, "But Beautiful".
