Dan Pratt Organ Quartet

New York based tenor saxophonist and composer Dan Pratt has perfomed with Bob Brookmeyer, Kenny Werner, Joe Lovano, the Christian McBride Big Band and the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. His updated version of the organ combo format retains the groove and adds sophisticated harmonies and modern melodic concepts, well documented on the CD "Springloaded". This quartet has been playing together since 2001, and will be climaxing a West Coast tour with this engagement, so expect some serious togetherness.

"The complete package…one of the most tremendous new saxophonists around today." -- Christian McBride

In addition he leads his own nonet, with a recording out on Fresh Sound/New Talent, entitled "Scenes From An Exit Row".

Organist Jared Gold has emerged as one of the young lions of the organ in the past few years, with performances at such venues as Manhattan's "Smoke", Ann Arbor's "Bird of Paradise", and the venerable "Baker's Keyboard Lounge" in Detroit. With an intense focus on groove, exploration, and a strong grasp of the tradition, Jared intends to carve his own path in the vast history of organists from Jimmy Smith to Larry Young. His record, "Enjoy the Moment", (www.pkorecords.com), has received rave reviews from radio stations, fans, and club owners from around the world. Jared also appears on "Going Somewhere", the newest CD of guitarist Avi Rothbard. Jared has performed with such noted artists as Bill Goodwin, John Snyder, Ralph Bowen, Ralph Peterson, John Swana, Javon Jackson, and Tony Reedus.
