Calvin Keys Trio

Guitarist Calvin Keys
has had an extraordinary almost fifty year career that included long
periods with jazz
legends Ahmad Jamal, Earl “Fatha” Hines, and Ray
Charles.
He has worked extensively with giants of the Hammond organ like Jimmy
Smith, Jimmy McGriff, Jack McDuff, Trudy Pitts, Dr. Lonnie Smith,
Charles Earland, Doug Carn, and Papa De Francesco.
Other jazz masters he has performed with include Blue Mitchell, Donald
Byrd, Lou
Donaldson, Bobby Hutcherson, Joe Henderson, Carmen McRae, Freddie
Hubbard, Woody Shaw, Stanley Turrentine, George Coleman, Red Holloway,
Oscar Brown Jr, Jimmy Witherspoon, and Jean Carn.
While performing is always a priority for Calvin Keys, he has found
time to record 14 CD’s as a leader.

Hammond organist Brian Ho began playing piano at
the age of five, taking lessons at both Stanford
and San Jose State. By the age of sixteen, he began to play
professionally. One of the most influential
experiences he had was playing organ for an African American Baptist
Church for several years as a teenager.
Brian is fortunate to play with some of the finest musicians, including
Richie Cole, Calvin Keys, Akira Tana, Josh Jones, Leon Joyce, Jr., Dave
Ellis, Melicio Magdaluyo, Christian Tamburr, Peppe Merolla, Chuck
McPherson, Bob Kenmotsu, Terrence Brewer, Rick Vandivier, Wally
Schnalle, Nicholas Bearde, and Jason Lewis.
In 2012, Brian released his first CD entitled “Organic” which features
guitarist Calvin Keys.
He appeared previously at Chez Hanny with the Lorca Hart Trio.

Morrison, Patti LaBelle, and Mary Wilson.
Leon has appeared at the Montreaux and Lugano Jazz Festivals in
Switzerland, the Villingen Swing/Jazz Festival in Germany, the Monterey
Jazz Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival, JVC Jazz Festival, and San
Francisco
Jazz Festival in
California, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, the JVC Jazz
Festival in Colorado, and the Chicago Jazz Festival.
