Drummer Akira Tana has worked with Sonny Rollins, Sonny Stitt, Zoot Sims, Hubert Laws, Milt Jackson, Jim Hall, Art Farmer, Tete Montoliu, Paul Winter, Paquito D'Rivera, James Moody, J.J. Johnson, Lena Horne, the Heath Brothers, and Manhattan Transfer. He has appeared on over 200 recordings.

Tana co-led a quintet with bassist Rufus Reid, called TanaReid, which released five CDs. A further five CDs followed with his own bands, Otonowa, and The Secret Agent Men Band.

Akira appeared here previously with Larry Vuckovich, Jerome Sabbagh, Jon Mayer, Knucklebean, Rob Schneiderman, Tim Armacost/David Berkman, John Klopotowski, Mark Lewis, and Akira Tana and Friends from Osaka.

Hammond organist Wayne de la Cruz began his professional career in 1973 playing his first paying gig on Hammond organ at the age of 16.

Since then he has performed with Randy Vincent, Pete Yellin, Mimi Fox, Maria Muldaur, Mary Wells, Vernelle Anders, Terri Lynn Carrington, Allison Miller, Wally Schnalle, Terrence Brewer, Alex Call, The Johnny Nocturne Band, and The Legion of Mary, among many others.

He has played at these well known venues: S.F. Jazz Center, Yoshi's Oakland & S.F., Monterey Jazz Festival, Jazz at Pearl's, Anna's Jazz Island, The Fillmore St. Jazz Festival, Biscuits and Blues, The Boom Boom Room, The Club Deluxe, The Hedly Club in San Jose, The Plaza Bistro in Sonoma, Piedmont Piano Co., Bach Dancing and Dynamite, Kuumbwa, and Vitello's in Studio City, Ca.

He appeared at Chez Hanny previously with the Jeff Massanari Trio, and the Wayne de la Cruz Trio.

Guitarist Jeff Massanari was born in Goshen, Indiana and moved to Washington DC at age 9. By the time he was 17 he was performing and teaching jazz and blues in the Washington DC area.

After studying at Berklee School of Music, Jeff moved to the Bay Area where has performed with vocalists Paula West, Brenda Boykin, Denise Perrier, Nicolas Bearde, Kenny Washington, and Pamela Rose, and instrumentalists Wally Schnalle, Jeff Pittson, Charles McNeil, Vince Lateano, Noel Jewkes, Charlie McCarthy, Jeff Chambers, The Johnny Nocturne Band, The Murasaki Ensemble, Swing Fever, and the San Francisco Symphony.

He appeared at Chez Hanny previously with the Jeff Massanari Trio, and the Wayne de la Cruz Trio.
